Privacy Policy
Tweetsville takes your privacy seriously. At no time is any personal information transferred to the Tweetsville website or shared with any third parties.
The Tweetsville application does communicate with the Tweetsville servers to send anonymous information in order for us to gather metrics. Specifically, we use this information for two reasons:
- To determine the number of daily unique users of the application.
- To determine the number of users on a specific OS/device type and a specific version of Tweetsville. This helps us determine what percentage of users are using the latest iPhone OS, etc. This helps us plan new features.
Again, no personal information is transferred. We specifically send the following information to our servers:
- Unique Device ID. Each phone/device has a unique identifier. We use this to simply make sure we're not counting devices more than once in our metrics.
- Device type (either iPhone or iPod Touch)
- OS version
- Tweetsville version
- Tweetsville build number
While we know the unique ID of a device, there is no way for anyone (including us) to identify you as a person. However, if you feel strongly that you do not want your information sent to our servers, you can email us at privacy@tweetsville.com and request to be put onto a blacklist. This will prevent us from logging information from your specific device. We'll need your device ID in order to add you. You can see this in iTunes. Connect your device and in the pane for the device there click the 'Serial Number' title. It should change to 'Identifier'. That's the ID we need in order to remove you. You can also use Ad Hoc Helper, available from the App Store. This will actually help you email the UDID quickly and easily.
